What obstacles will we have to overcome before self-driving cars become the norm? In an article from The Next Web obstacles from to introduce self-driving cars are being discussed. The technology is already here, but people are careful about integrating this technology into their lives.
Mr. Volker Heistermann, Managing Director of Yushan Ventures was asked to present his views why certain industries may fight this emerging technology. He presented some industries where self-driving cars could be equal to less revenue such as the insurance industry, repair shops might in the future have less costumers as cars will be involved in fewer accidents. Think about speed regulation, you would not have to employ that many police officers as the car will regulate the speed of the car according to the laws, and finally the taxi industry will be affected as taxi drivers in the end might become obsolete.
